The propaganda of World War 2 was very controversial in terms of Art. But in terms of influence and reflection it helped a nation win a war. Propaganda was used as a tool for enlisting troops and increasing national moral. The people of the U.S. during the 1940's were already devastated and worn out from World War 1. Propaganda helped people believe in the cause of the war. Many critics argue whether or not propaganda in the U.S. was art at all. Many believe that the mass destruction and death caused by the war should easily classify propaganda as a means for destruction. On the other hand people believe that it helped prevent further deaths by getting everyone in the nation involved to help the army. The first main type of propaganda helped increase the army's size, the second help support women and people not going out to battle by increasing their spirits. They did this by helping them believe that they were needed at home to help build supplies and tools for the war, and they actually did help. Women were influenced by the art to help build bombers and fighter planes for the troops overseas. The propaganda of World War 2 reflected a generation of support for a country.
These posters all had different meanings to help support the war and influence people. Rosie the Riveter helped women a lot by boosting their moral. Women felt as if they were not helping in the cause. This poster influenced women to help build vehicles and distribute munitions to the men fighting oversees. The "attack on all fronts" influenced both soldiers and women to help in the war and join the cause. The poster with the fist punching through the Nazi flag helped people at home buy bonds. Bonds were a way to keep inflation at a low level and also helped put a weapon in every soldiers hands by financing military equipment. In terms of influence these posters helped people at home and people oversees win the war.
