Following the movement of Abstract Expressionism, Pop art gained popularity really fast. Its unique style of using popular culture and mass media images was what made it unique, hence the name "Pop" culture. On of the most famous Pop Artist of his this generation was Andy Warhol. He inspired millions with his everyday art style, unique use of color patterns, and minimalist painting structure. One of the most loved ideas of pop culture used by Andy Warhol was that everyone could enjoy it. It wasn't specifically made for entrepreneurs or art critics, by using everyday items people could relate to the "High and Low" art style. This was seen in his famous paintings such as Marilyn Monroe, Campbell's tomato soup, and use of various comic strips. Pop art used by Warhol reflected styles based off of comic books, cartoons, celebrities, and things in every day life. Andy Warhol reflected a modern family life, he grew u not rich or poor and as a child was very sick. In school he was ignored and teased for this, he was viewed as an "outcast" as Warhol put it. Andy influenced people in his art and was not only considered a great Pop Artist but one of the greatest artists in the U.S. of his generation.
These three paintings perfectly reflect the "Pop" image and culture. Each one is something that everyday people could have related to. Whether they liked Elvis or Marilyn Monroe, or if they ate Campbell's soup everyday. These photos were some of the most famous in the pop culture movement, most people in the United States would recognize at least one of these if they saw one.
