This is a great book on Modern Art in the U.S. It helped covered the decades of 1940- 1970. Specifically it helped with abstract expressionism, pop art, and minimalism.

This book was especially informative on the young life and early beginnings of Andy Warhol. It talked about some of his inspiration as a child and in his later years as well. It also covers many of the paintings he has done including Marylyn Monroe and Campbell’s.

The book “Art Through The Ages” serves as well written source. It covers the timeline of art from the Stone Age to the end of the twentieth century. Though, I am only using the last chapter. The last chapter covers a wide variety of forms of Art and has information on famous and influential artists as well. Overall this book is mainly a good source for identifying different pieces of forms of art that are unique. The art covered in this book is visual art.

This is a great book that talks about the influence Warhol had on others, specifically towards the artists of Neo-Expressionism. He influenced many artists with his unique color schemes and everyday items art styles.

This book was especially helpful because it focused on Art in America starting from early modernism and contemporary art to the struggles of Andy Warhol. It goes into specific of what artists’ life’s were like in America, the influence, fans, and daily life.

This book was helpful for its information on the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. It had information on the multiple art styles used in the 70’s and it also talked about Neo-Expressionistic styles. It was a good book for different contemporary, drip –style paintings. It also talked about the Feminist movement of the 70’s and the reasons for it.

This one was very informative to research on the influences of the Harlem Renaissance and the abstract expressionistic movement. It talked about the gothic/ late renaissance of art in the 1800’s.

This book was about American Feminism and the art involved. It helped inform me about what women were thinking and the reasons behind their nudist/injustice based art styles.

This book was about the life and art of Richard Diebenkorn, a figurative painter in the abstract expressionism movement. It talked about what he was influenced by in his early child hood, and why he painted such beautiful landscape imagery. His paintings were minimalistic with dozens of things going on in them.

This book is written about Georgia O’Keefe. Her work highlighted the middle to end of the twentieth century. She is a great source to base information off of because she brought masterpieces of modernism to America. Her modernistic visual art style is one of the highlights of the art world in the twentieth century.
